FAQ

How much of GoalLancer can I change for my own personal use?
GoalLancer is completely customizable. You can change the colors, fonts, the headers, the number of columns, rows and sheets - anything you can do to an Excel spreadsheet, you can do to GoalLancer.

If I make some changes to the program, can I resell it or make it available for download?
No, this is in violation of the GoalLancer Software License Agreement. Don't do that. It's stealing.

Does GoalLancer work on a Mac/ Linux/ an ancient version of Windows?
Yep! You can even import it into Google Docs so that you have access to it anywhere you have an Internet connection.

Can I print out the data easily?
Yes. I've designed the software so that if you set your printer to print on the front and the back of your page, a whole month fits on a single ordinary 8"x11" sheet of paper for easy record-keeping. At the end of the year, you can print your entire itemized business history for the year on just 13 pages. It's designed to make doing your taxes a breeze.

How do I import it into Google Docs?
Google has an easy guide for that here.

What payment methods can I use to pay?
Right now, I just take PayPal.  You can pay with a credit card through PayPal, though, and you don't have to become a member of PayPal to purchase the program. I'm working on accepting Google Checkout.

Can I get a refund if I change my mind?
I'm really sorry, but due to the nature of the product, I can't refund any purchases.

Can I distribute GoalLancer to other people?
No, that's a copyright violation. I'm actively seeking to develop this project into a full-fledged program with many more features and an integrated iPhone and Android app. But I can't do that if no one wants to pay for it. Please support the project by buying a paid copy.

I messed up the formulas, can't fix it, and my download link expired.
I STRONGLY SUGGEST YOU KEEP A BLANK BACKUP COPY of GoalLancer for your own personal use. That way, if you mess up a formula on the version you've been working on, just cut and paste the formula from the blank version into the cell and automatically fix it. If you haven't done this, contact me, let me know what the problem is, and I can see what I can do to help.

I need a bunch of stuff changed and a few special features for GoalLancer to really work for my business.
I do custom spreadsheet design and can even integrate GoalLancer into a website or content management for you. Contact me with the details and your contact information, and I'll be happy to send you a quote.

I don't have Microsoft Excel. Can I still use GoalLancer?
Yep! OpenOffice is a full productivity suite that will run GoalLancer on any version of Windows, Linux and Mac and it's completely free.  Their version of Microsoft Excel is called OpenOffice Calc.

How do I open GoalLancer with OpenOffice?
GoalLancer comes in .XLS format, native to Microsoft Excel. OpenOffice Calc can handle this file the same as Excel, but your computer won't necessarily know that. Here is a quick guide to letting your computer know that OpenOffice can open XLS spreadsheets: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307859

Eek. I found a bug.
Let me know by visiting my support page!

You found a bug and I have the buggy version. How do I get the new version?
I'll put up new versions as I finish them. If I discover a major bug, I'll send a free download link to all the users who have paid for the buggy version in the last six months.

How do I import my data into new versions of GoalLancer?
One of two ways:
  1. Copy and paste JUST your data - and NOT the three goals columns - into the new version.
  2. Compare the release notes, and copy and paste the updated formulas on the newer version into the same cells on your old spreadsheet.
Sorry if that sounds confusing. I intend to put up a video tutorial on how to do this soon and/or figure out a better way to import and export data from the program. It's definitely a work in progress!

I have a site and I'd like to sell GoalLancer on it. Do you have an affiliate program?
At this time, I've discontinued my affiliate program. I apologize for any inconvenience. However, if you'd like to link to my site from yours, I'd still really appreciate it! Here's a 150x150 button you're welcome to use.
